As we come to the end of the first full year of The Slab, I would like to say thank you to all the readers who have bought either Dark Horses or Laughs in Space, or who have just subscribed to this blog-letter. I hope you have enjoyed reading the stories, and thank you very much to those who have left us lovely reviews.
As an editor, I have been madly busy in 2024, not only bringing out my own anthology, but also working on other projects for other publishing houses. I’ve also been whizzing around the country attending conventions and book fairs. Next year doesn’t look quite so busy just yet, but you will definitely be able to see us at Sci Fi Weekender, Eastercon in Belfast, and World Fantasy Convention in Brighton. Only the latter will have a stall for The Slab, so I will definitely be trying to fit in some more fairs next year.
I’m also looking forward to bringing you Vivid Worlds and Hiding Under the Leaves next year.
Oh and if you are about to submit a vote for any of those year-end votes, please do consider Laughs in Space, and any of the stories therein.

Please do check out Donna Scott for more news of what I’ve been up to.
Wow, to think at the end of next year, the new century will be a quarter-way through… I’m still only just getting over the millennium!
May the midnight chimes on Tuesday ring in a peaceful and pleasant start to the year, and here’s hoping you have an awesome new calendar to begin. Mine is by Gemma Beynon.
Here’s to 2025!
