Readers of my personal blog may already have seen me post about this news, so apologies for any repetition.
I’m delighted to be able to say that Laughs in Space has been longlisted for the BSFA Awards in the category of Best Collection! It’s up against some stiff competition, but I’m absolutely delighted.
In addition, Rick Danforth’s story from LIS, “Querulous Times” has also been longlisted, and you can read it for free on his blog here.
It’s now up to members of the BSFA to vote for their favourites in each category and the shortlists will be announced in March.
And, as if anticipated a rush, Mr Bezos has hugely dropped the price of the paperback of Laughs in Space with a whopping 76% off at time of writing, as it’s going for just £3.30 in the UK.
I am not posting any links to the awards page, as only BSFA members can take part in this round, and they will have been emailed the links in the newsletter.
However, if you are not a member of the BSFA, then please do consider nominating us for the other fan awards that pop up at this time of year!

In other news, the stories for Vivid Worlds have now all been selected and all submission emails have now been answered. I will be able to announce the ToC within the next couple of weeks.
In the meantime, just three days into the submissions period for Hiding Under the Leaves, I have already received around 150 stories, so I’m expecting the final number of stories to read will be huge. I’m looking forward to reading them.
