Here at The Slab we’ve had a dramatic end to May – and just as I type that, cue the sound of thunder as the continued heatwave brings us a bit of a storm. Basically one clap’s worth… and now it’s back to hot and dry again.
However, the drama here is good. All silver lining, no cloud, as we celebrate a bit of success.
Two bits of good news, both concerning our folk horror anthology, Hiding Under the Leaves.
First of all, the British Fantasy Awards shortlist is out and L J McMenemy‘s story, “No One Knows the Old Ways Anymore and it Will Be the End of Everything” is nominated for Best Short Story.
Secondly, Pete W Sutton‘s story, “In the Forest There are Doors” has been selected by the awesome Ellen Datlow for The Best Horror of the Year Volume Eighteen.
